What can I say? As Christmas approaches and the year comes to an end, most of us, if not all of us can reflect on what has taken place in our lives this year. Some good and some bad has taken place, but regardless of how your year has been, God’s presence remained the same. The way in which you reacted to some of the events that you’ve encountered rely heavily upon your placement of God in your life.
As for me keeping God first was a theme this year to avoid unnecessary pitfalls and to re-establish myself in Him. In a world that moves extremely fast, we can easily get caught up in everything going on around us and lose sight of our position to stay within God’s will. Keeping Him first is our safety net to peace and a sweet tranquility that no man can ever provide.
The strength God gives us from seeking Him primarily over every other thing pulls us through to a place that allows us to be overcomers. In times when we want to lash out, we hold our tongues. In times of chaos and loss, we rise above the anxiety. He gives us the tools to survive and stand out amongst those who have faith in themselves alone.
Our paths are clearly marked and mapped because the volume is up on the clear and stern voice of the Holy Spirit. With God first, there is no fear and our steps are sure. His word lets us know the steps of a good man are ordered (Psalm 37:23) and He is with us all the way.
We don’t know the turns that our lives will take, but one thing we do know is that serving the one and true living God gives us certainty and peace.
This year has been truly amazing because I gave all of my faith and trust to God and let Him have His way in all things. If you’re still holding onto the reigns of your life, let them go and let God take over. I dare you to try it for yourself and I promise you will never be the same.
