Here we are on a Friday, when I end each message with “…Until next Thursday…”. First, I apologize. I may not have many followers, but for that one or two who anticipate my post each week, I let you down. Above all else, I let my Heavenly Father down. I’ve been striving to remain consistent and Thursday was the day I committed to, to deliver God’s word in a practical way.
In my mind I felt it was ok that it was only one day late. I got busy this week prioritizing every other thing before this one moment in the week that I draw close to God and give the world what He’s laid on my heart to share. I was talking to a very special friend of mine about posting it today and he asked me one question. Did I do my absolute best to get it done in time?? Yes or No?
As most people do, I began to run down a laundry list of all the things I had to do and all the events and tasks that stood in my way. Never answering the question, I tried my best to make logical sense of the reasons I hadn’t gotten it done, when in actuality I hadn’t done my absolute best to fulfill my weekly task. My true answer was no 😞.
Ugh, it’s so hard admitting fault or wrong and taking responsibility for self sometimes.
In life, we are always going to have commitments that we must fulfill. Errands to run, businesses to build, spouses to tend to, kids to pick up/drop off, meals to cook, laundry to do, etc. In the midst of all that life brings our way, the most important obligation is doing what God has for us to do excuse free. Jesus displayed the ultimate act of kindness and love by setting us all free through His great work on the cross. No excuses. Talk about priorities.
Like me, you may have many things on your daily to do list, but don’t forget that we have a duty to seek Him first and give Him first place in our lives.
We honor God by showing Him He’s number one in our lives. Matthew 6:33
Dear Lord of my life, from this day forward I vow to get this done on time.
Until next THURSDAY,
