Yes, I put the word ‘new’ twice for a reason. It’s obvious we’re in a new year and I’m truly thankful for it, but there’s more new to me in this year that I could have ever prayed or hope for. 2016 had it’s highs and lows and as I look back I’m grateful I made it through. So let’s recap starting with the lows. I experienced a failed relationship, lost my grandmother during the holidays, and tipped the scale over 200 lbs. For the highs, I got a new car, joined a boxing/mma gym, and most importantly reconnected with God. Of those three that has been the best high and it has catapulted me into 2017 with vigor and a new found purpose.
This year I’d like to do something different. Instead of focusing on calories, scales, and dress sizes, I’d rather focus on Jesus Christ. I’ve come to realize that if I’m not aligned in Him, everything else falls apart. So, as it relates to fitness I’ll be referencing a fit heart (breastplate of righteousness) and mind (helmet of salvation). Those are only two of the six weapons of the armor of God (Ephesians 6), but I’ll be sharing my walk with you, with hopes to encourage and help those who are believers grow in their Christian walks. And those who are not believers, there’s room at the cross for you too. Jesus loves us and wants nothing but greatness for us. Place your trust in Him and he’ll certainly change your life.
It’s funny that I joined a boxing gym to learn how to fight in the physical realm, but now I’m training to fight in the spirit realm with what God has equipped me with. God has a funny way of bringing us back to Him for His glory. My life has forever changed through the time I now commit to my Lord and Savior and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I pray that this blog will be a blessing to many of you.
God Bless and keep fighting the good fight,
